Traverse City city commissioners moved the West Boardman Lake Trail plans three steps forward this week. They authorized an agreement that would route the proposed trail through the Lake Ridge Condominium Association property, as well as an agreement with the Michigan Department of Transportation for a "connector trail" between 14th Street and the current trail to the north. They also voted to accept a $210,000 grant from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, which will be matched by the GT County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, to construct the trail. When complete, the West Boardman Lake Trail will connect from the paved area southeast of Oryana to South Airport Road, ultimately linking the existing Boardman Lake Trail so it extends around Boardman Lake.
