Six ballot proposals await every Michigan resident's vote in the November 6 general election. Are you ready to make an informed decision? The League of Women Voters of Michigan hopes to help. The group has studied all six proposals, created a pro and con for each one, and is bringing in the president of the Michigan League of Women Voters to make a presentation on each, Thursday October 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Traverse Area District Library. LWVMI President Susan Smith will present information on the emergency manager law referendum, and the proposed constitutional amendments to: create a new right to collective bargaining, require 25 percent renewable energy by 2025, establish the Michigan quality home council, require a supermajority (2/3) vote of Legislature or referendum to increase taxes, and require a vote of the people before the State of Michigan can construct or finance new international bridges or tunnels for motor vehicles. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
I have a serious problem with the LWV doing anything fair anymore. Their progressive liberal agenda, wanting to pay more taxes for more entitlement programs, and not aiming to prevent ILLEGAL voting in this country makes them longer an effective organization. Their is no fairness in the LWV anymore.
