Because of the Labor Day holiday, the Traverse City City Commission will meet Tuesday, September 4. Among the issues commissioners will tackle: altering transient vendor (i.e. food cart) rates approved earlier this summer for areas outside the DDA district; amending the ordinance – perhaps an outright ban – on the ignition of consumer fireworks beyond the scope of national holidays, a thre-day period that is protected by state law; and a possible amendment to TIF financing that might allow funds to be used to support the Traverse City History Center. The TC City Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the Governmental Center, 400 Boardman Avenue.
