September 17, 2012
Tonight: Traverse City Commission

At tonight's meeting, the Traverse City City Commission will consider, among other things, accepting a $13,963 grand from the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians that would be used to construct a picnic pavilion at the new Veterans Memorial Park on 11th Street, just east of Elmwood (on the grounds of The Village at Grand Traverse Commons), as well as a $19,700 grant that would support operational expenses at Michael's Place. Commissioners will also consider introducing tweaks to city zoning ordinances related to the regulation of solar and wind energy. Finally, it will also consider approving the consultant that will conduct the upcoming audit of TCL&P's management and operations.
