Today: TCL&P Takes on Brewery Creek ... Again

Traverse City Light & Power has called a special meeting to discuss the judgment lien it maintains against Brewery Creek Condominium Association. The lein is holding up the sale to Elmwood Township from current owner Brown Bark I, LP, of 10 units in the development. Through a tax lien, TCL&P in 2011 received more than $250,000 owed to it for street lights it installed on the failed development's property; Brown Bark I, which in 2008 purchased the property after the original developer defaulted on the loan, is challenging the lien in federal court. The property is located across M-22 from the Elmwood Township marina and Greilickville Harbor Park. The TCL&P board will meet tomorrow at 4 p.m. in the commission chambers of the Governmental Center, 400 Boardman Ave. in TC.
