This Weekend: Library Used and Rare Book Sale

The Friends of the Traverse Area District Library hosts its annual Used and Almost Rare Book Sale this weekend. Featuring hundreds of used and rare books donated by various patrons and sold at bargain prices, the sale includes classics, recent fiction and non-fiction in hardcover and paperback, plus children's books, cookbooks, computer books, books on tape and CDs and DVDs. Word is, this year's sale boasts several unusual titles, attractive sets, signed books, books on local history, art books and books published before 1900. (A silent auction will be held for the most rare and collectable books.) All proceeds benefit Traverse Area District Library services and programs, Live! at the Library artists, authors and performers, Poets Night Out, and visiting authors through the TC Reads program. The sale runs Saturday, Sept. 22 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 23 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This annual book sale will take place in the McGuire Room at the Main Branch of the Traverse Area District Library located at 610 Woodmere Avenue in Traverse City.
