MSN Real Estate this week reports on 10 hospital and health care facilities around the country that were once shuttered, but now have been re-born as bustling and vibrant residential communities. Traverse City's Village at Grand Traverse Commons is listed among them. It is highlighted for its redevelopment into condos, offices, shops and an urban winery as well as pedestrian-friendly walkways, big lawns and surrounded by an arboretum. According to the article, a 2,200 square-foot condo with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a loft sold for $515,000 in September.
