Officers from the Traverse City Police Department made four arrests Tuesday night and in the wee hours of Wednesday:
• A 27-year-old Traverse City man who disregarded a stop sign on 15th Street while driving a moped was arrested for OWI 2nd offense, driving on a suspended license, and an enhancement of High BAC (his blood alcohol: .18.)
• A 44-year-old Traverse City woman was arrested for assault and battery (on a Traverse City firefighter) and resisting and obstructing police after she threw a plate at officers who had been dispatched to her apartment on Center Street for a welfare check.
• A 26-year-old Traverse City man was arrested for OWI 1st Offense after officers pulled his car over for a traffic violation on 12th Street and determined that the individual was intoxicated.
A 25-year-old Traverse City man was arrested at Rite Aid in the West Bay Plaza for attempting to procure scheduled narcotics with a forged prescription. Pharmacists were suspicious of the prescription and contacted the prescribing physician who advised them the prescription had been altered. Officers from the Traverse City Police Department were dispatched to the pharmacy and apprehended the individual as he was waiting for his prescription to be filled.
