Traverse City has made the list of Money magazine’s 20 “Best Places to Retire 2013” in the country. The listing in the November issue broke the top 20 into four sections, with TC ranked in the “Resort Area” category alongside Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho; Fredericksburg, Texas; St. Augustine, Florida; and St. George, Utah. TC’s biggest draws, according to the magazine: “Sandy beaches, year-round cultural events and affordable waterfront homes.” It lists the median cost of a home at $195,000 – second to the lowest among the five cities in the resort category.
