TC Dog Park Open

August 13, 2012
TC Dog Park Open

Traverse City's first off-leash area for canines and people is getting closer to its grand opening. Last week, the final touches to the enclosure were finished by Compass Fencing Co. of Suttons Bay and over the next two months the city will install signage, benches, waste stations, and sidewalks. While the park is open to visitors, volunteers are asking visitors to be mindful that the park has been made possible through a collective effort, and the responsibility for its success is a community effort. Translation? Please tread lightly, pick up after your pups (and self) and stay involved. One option: Sign up for the dog park newsletter at tcdogpark.com to receive information on the park, volunteer opportunities and fundraising events. Volunteers are planning a grand opening celebration for early fall and a few fundraising events to pay for water stations. Stay tuned to The Ticker for details.
