The numbers are in: 1,750 canoes and kayaks participated in the Suttons Bay Floatilla this past weekend – a great showing, but unfortunately, just shy of the 2,000-boat goal and the hoped-for place in the Guinness Book of World Records (GBWR's previous record is 1,902). Regardless of records got or not, proceeds from the event went to the Suttons Bay Schools Student Activities Fund. On the event's Facebook page, there is talk of "rumblings of another attempt in 2013." Stay tuned.
Let the games begin. To those who participated I think you were great. Fantastic first effort. The picture in the R.E. was awsome. jdb
