SCORE-Traverse City upnorthscore.com has been named the 2012 District Chapter of the Year for Michigan, beating out chapters in larger markets including Detroit, Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids. Last year, SCORE-Traverse City's all-volunteer team of more than 40 local professionals provided 600+ mentoring sessions to entrepreneurs, and nearly 300 participants attended small business educational workshops – all free of charge. This is the fifth time the local SCORE chapter has received the district recognition, the last time in 2006. It will now compete with other district winners throughout the country for the National Chapter of the Year award.
