This week Northwestern Michigan College is signing reverse transfer agreements with six University Center partners that will make the process of transferring credits back to NMC for students who go on to four-year universities significantly easier. The agreements – with Central Michigan, Davenport, Ferris State, Grand Valley, Michigan State, Western Michigan and Northern – formalize the process of "reverse" transferring credits that complete requirements for an NMC degree or certificate. One benefit? Studies show that students who successfully complete an associate's degree are more likely to complete a bachelor's degree.
Reverse Transfer Agreements are not just with University Center Partners. NMC is working on agreements with many 4-year universities (public or private). Note this ceremony included an agreement with Northern Michigan University, a non NMC University Center partner school. We value all schools working to help students transfer credits back to NMC for awarding of an associates degree.
