A series of free events are being held in town today in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Here's a round-up: Peace Day Celebrations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Great Lakes Children's Museum include special readings and hands-on activities for all ages; all-day programming at the State Theatre includes a screening of To Kill a Mockingbird (9 a.m.), live coverage of the presidential inauguration (11:30 a.m.), live performance of the Detroit-based Brazeal Dennard Chorale (5:30 p.m.), screening of Middle of Nowhere (8:30 p.m.). The Peninsula Community Library will be showing Driving Miss Daisy at 7 p.m.
Also, free today: admission to the Dennos Museum exhibit THEM: Images of Separation. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
