Loss of Local Newsman

The Ticker is deeply saddened to report the loss of a well-respected local newsman: 9&10 News/Fox 32 Anchor Scott Michael Trager died unexpectedly yesterday morning. According to information posted on the station's website, Trager began his career at 9&10 News in 1990 and was currently the co-anchor of Michigan This Morning. Among his many accolades were two Emmy Awards from the National Television Academy Michigan Chapter. He also helped create the award-winning Sports Overtime show while he served as sports director at 9&10 News in the mid 1990's. "For over 20 years Scott Michael Trager has been part of the 9&10 News family," station owner Mario Iacobelli said in a statement. "From his dynamic sports reporting to his professional yet funny personality he showed at the anchor desk, his impact will never be forgotten." Trager is survived by his wife and three children.

Our thoughts and prayers are the the Trager family. We've never met Scott, personally, but felt we knew him just watching his newcasting & programs on TV 9 & 10. I remember when his girls were born, he was ONE PROUD DADDY. May God surround all of you with peace that only HE can give.

Morning news will never be the same. My husband and I watched Scott Michael Trager grow up from a sports reporter whom we thought looked to be 18, energized with a smile that could win anyone's heart. RIP Scott.

This man was a great talent. He was kind and well respected by all that new him. I am sad to lose that energy and enthusiasm from my mornings. People like him are hard to find in this big mean world.

OMG!! What a terrible loss of life. Scott was way to young to be gone already! Scott you will be Greatly Missed by sooo many people. I want to cry every time I think about you being gone. Praying for your family & friends that they get through this without to many problems. My son Donny went to school with one of your nieces (Autumn) at Kingsley High School where you also graduated. R.I.P. Scott!! Have fun up there in Heaven!!!
