Local Vets Needed for History Project

Students at Eastern Elementary in Traverse City are looking for local veterans to interview as part of a Library of Congress national effort. The videotapes and transcripts of the interviews will become part of the permanent national Veteran's History Project collection in Washington, D.C.

Interested veterans from World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War or the Persian Gulf War are asked to contact Susan McQuaid, 947.3200 x205 or susan@unitedwaynwmi.org. The interviews will take place at Eastern Elementary on March 5 and 6. Each veteran will receive a copy of the interview and they will also air on UpNorthTV.

What a great project on so many levels. Kudos to the teacher and students. Can't wait to see the results.
