It's the final day of the 10th Annual Festival of Trains at the History Center of Traverse City. Hours New Year's Day are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Presented by the Northern Michigan Railroad Club, the festival is a major fundraiser for the History Center. This year's exhibit features an interactive replica of the Thomas the Tank Engine. $5 per guest (children 4 and under free). More info by calling 995.0313.
I went to it yesterday (Dec. 30), and it's such a treat, especially with Christmas themed items (Christmas Trees, Christmas Lights, etc.) displayed along with the trains and other railroad items. Kudos to the Northern Michigan Railroad Club.
