The Traverse City Police Department arrested a suspect after he broke into a home in the 300 block of West 12th Street on October 6. The victim stated that he and his wife were sleeping when they were awoken by loud pounding on their front door. The victim then heard the sound of glass breaking shortly before 3 a.m. Upon coming out of his bedroom the victim saw an unknown male had entered his home and was standing inside the front door. The victim retreated to his bedroom and contacted 911. A city officer checking the area found the suspect nearby. When interviewed, the suspect, who was intoxicated, stated he had made a “huge mistake." The suspect was lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail.
