Got Questions About Lake Levels?

Earlier in January, Lake Michigan broke the 1964 low water level record. Was it because of the hot, dry summer of 2012? What else might have been a contributing factor? Come find out at Great Lakes Levels 101 on Mon., Feb. 4, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Civic Center in Traverse City. The Watershed Center has gathered a panel of experts to discuss what is happening to our lakes, and answer all your low lake level questions. Free. Call 922.4628 for more info.

WOW! Didn't those dock used to be ( back in the day) at nearly water level? That looks like 6 feet or more lost ( Lost?) Where is it--Does Al Gore know?

Looks like the old "Coal Pile" dock/pier. The coal pile pier has pine trees on it now, and you can see them in the background. These docks sit just south of the pier on the west side of West GT Bay.

At the docks south of the old coal dock on west bay.
