The Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an assault on the TART near Three Mile and Parsons in East Bay Township. The initial investigation has shown that at approximately 12:00 Tuesday, a 14-year-old female was walking on the TART near Three Mile and Parsons when a male subject attempted to pull the girl into the woods. She was able to get away from the subject by biting his arm. The subject is described as an older white male with wrinkles, standing between 5’10” and 6’0” tall with blonde hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing blue jeans, a grey pull-over shirt with a breast pocket and black gloves. The man has a limp and may have a bite mark on his left arm. I agree that crime seems to be escalating in our quiet little town, but have you been on the TART? It's pretty isolated and I wouldn't be caught alone on it as an adult woman! What the heck is a 14 year old girl doing on it alone? Unfortunately we have to do a better job of educating our kids to be aware and protect themselves.
