The Kingsley Friends of the Library (KFOL) has been awarded a state honor: the 2012 Outstanding Michigan Friends of the Library for libraries serving a population less than 12,000. The award recognized KFOL's inaugural Adams Fly Festival in 2012, which raised more than $13,000 for the Kingsley branch of the Traverse Area District Library. The festival was the single largest fundraising event the group has ever organized. Gay Travis, president of the KFOL, and Mary Fraquelli, manager for the Kingsley Library, will accept the award at a ceremony in April.
