The Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office is investigating a two-car fatal traffic crash that happened on September 23 at 9:34 p.m. in Acme Township. The crash occurred on East M-72, about one half mile east of Lautner Road. A westbound vehicle, driven by 36-year-old Andrew David Hoffman, a Traverse City man, attempted to pass a vehicle and struck an eastbound vehicle head on. The eastbound vehicle was driven by Andrew Hull, a 47-year-old Kalkaska man. The eastbound vehicle was also occupied by a 13-year-old passenger. Hoffman died at the scene. Hull was injured and transported to Munson Hospital. The passenger in Hull's vehicle was uninjured.
