Last December, The Ticker featured a story on My Sister's House, a non-profit transitional home for girls 18-21 who have aged out of the foster care system, are homeless, or at high risk of becoming homeless. This month, Elmbrook Golf Course is hosting a golf scramble to benefit the non-profit. All of the proceeds from the scramble, scheduled for September 22, will benefit MSH, Inc., which welcomed its first resident at the end of August. Educational/employment goals and life-skills training are strong focuses of MSH, according to Cristy Allen, director and founder who, at age 15, was a runaway seeking shelter herself. If you’re interested in sponsoring the golfing event or participating as a team, contact Angel at golf@mysistershouseonline.org.
