City Manager Bifoss to Retire in June

Ben Bifoss, city manager for the City of Traverse City, has announced his retirement effective June 28. In comments to the City Commission during its study session last evening, Bifoss says he has enjoyed working with the commissioners and city staff, and found the work challenging and rewarding, but the time is right. His wife is also retiring this spring and she has "big travel plans for me," he told commissioners. Bifoss was hired by the city in 2008 to replace former city manager Richard Lewis. The City Commission is expected to begin the process of finding Bifoss' successor next month.

Sure hope he will not be receiving any big pension that he is always complaining that the other City employees are getting.
