Construction for the first phase of Traverse City's Clinch Park Revitalization project – i.e. the new and improved Bayfront – begins now. What's that mean to you? Clinch Park Beach, Clinch Marina and the boat launch will remain open (Marina Drive will be closed temporarily this fall; a detour will be available), but the park itself and the Cass Street tunnel will remain closed until May 24, 2013. Additionally, the length of TART trail in the area will be detoured from Park Street to Union Street. (Signs will explain the detour.) Following the construction efforts, you can expect the new Bayfront to feature: the William G. Milliken Waterscape, an interactive outdoor educational exhibit that will demonstrate the life cycle of water; interpretive playground equipment; a universal small boat access/launch; universal access to the beach and water; a terraced lawn area with stone sitting walls; a repainted, lighter and brighter Cass Street tunnel; and more.
wonderful! welcome freshwater family educational resources for all who live, vacation or visit. freshwater has far more importance than its beauty. let's keep it clean ;)
