A car in Garfield Township was broken into Sunday evening around 10pm, Grand Traverse Sheriffs are reporting. The apparent theft took place on Greenbrier Drive, where a resident scared an apparent suspect away. A police canine unit track led to a car parked on Silver Cove Drive, though the apparent suspect vehicle itself had apparently left the scene. Deputies recovered a pair of snowboard boots and some alcoholic beverages left behind by the suspects. The Sheriffs Office is asking that anyone missing any property in this area or anyone with information call 231.995.5000.
