Intoxicated Hit and Run

On August 30, Traverse City police responded to the report of a hit and run accident behind Dillinger’s Pub, 121 South Union St. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the reporting party who stated that a white Buick had hit a parked vehicle, then left the scene eastbound on State Street. A Grand Traverse County deputy observed the Buick southbound on U.S. 31 near South Airport Road and pulled it over. The driver was identified as a 21-year-old Benzie County resident. He was found to be intoxicated, testing at a .188-percent blood-alcohol content. He was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail.
